The San Francisco Giants, originally named New York Gotham, are famously known as the New York Giants. The team was relocated to San Francisco in 1958 after Walter O'Malley, the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, pursued Horace Stoneham, the owner of the Giants, to relocate his team as well to preserve the rivalry between both teams.

Originally founded in 1883, the San Francisco Giants relocated in 1958, bringing baseball to the West Coast and establishing a new era of dominance. The team has become widely famous as one of Major League Baseball's most storied franchises. It has a deep history, legendary players, and, most importantly, a passionate fan base.

With eight World Series titles and a reputation for excellence, the Giants have built a legacy of success. Their greatest period of modern dominance came in the 2010s, when they won three championships in five years (2010, 2012, 2014), led by stars like Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, and Pablo Sandoval. The franchise has also been home to some of baseball’s most iconic figures, including Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, and Juan Marichal that booming the black, orange, metallic gold, and cream color around.

The team plays its home games at Oracle Park, one of the most picturesque stadiums in baseball, with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay. Known for its unique features, including McCovey Cove—where fans in kayaks wait for home run balls—the ballpark is a beloved landmark for both locals and baseball enthusiasts.

The Giants have fierce rivalries, most notably with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a feud that dates back to their days in New York. Their battles with the Oakland Athletics in the Bay Area also add to the team’s competitive fire.
